Feburary 24, 2010 - Registry and Nursery

The registries are all most done. Chris is going to put some quick links to them on the blog.

On the Babies R Us registry I have picked out the stroller and joggers along with all the baby essentials. The jogger is very expensive. I would prefer to save for that one in particular instead of going with a different model. I have read tons of reviews and spoke to friends that are new moms and they all say that the BOB jogger is worth the money. http://babies1st.com/bobstrollers/proddetail.asp?prod=ZM17187A This website has the strollers at the same price but the cute pink and brown one. You can also add accessories for adapting it to hold an infant car seat and cup holders. Also they are made in the USA. Yet another huge plus.

The other stroller is a traveler with a matching car seat. I also put this one on because I thought it would be good for people when they babysit Layla.

The Pottery Barn registry is more for inspiration for the nursery.
What I have decided at this point is that I would like to have pink and green be the main colors. My "DREAM" is to put up a chair rail with wainscoting and crown molding in white and then paint the room pink. I would bring the green in by the curtains and the rug. I would like to get the painting and base work done before the shower and then after have my very talented family and friends come over and paint all the bugs and flowers on the walls.

We have turned the closet into a closet / home office, so I added a few more curtains to hid that. I also put some ideas on the registry for inspiration of things that could easily be made from home. Some of the accessories I thought were overpriced and made in China were the paper flower chandelier, flower lamps and butterfly mobile. I thought not only could these be made at home but they could also be more personalized o Layla's room.

I have gone with butterfly sheets and crib bumpers but I would like to pull the other bugs and colors into the room . I still love the ladybugs, dragonflies and bumble bees. It is just impossible to find all of them together with out it looking tacky.
