Leachco Back 'N Belly - Contoured Body Pillow - Ivory

I got the best sleep last night. Chris being the amazing husband that he is, bought this pillow for me for Valentines Day. My cousin who is also pregnant and due at the end of this month told us about it. It has really saved me from restless nights. I highly recommend one too anyone who is pregnant. Besides the great sleep I got last night, it also helps with feeding the baby by wrapping around your stomach. And the best thing to Chris is that it is MADE IN THE USA!

Tonight Chris and I have our first baby class at the hospital. They are going to give us a tour of the birthing center and information on the other classes they offer. We are already signed up for the parenting series that starts in March. I think I would also like to take Lamaze, breastfeeding and CPR.

Other exciting news is that the baby shower is getting underway. It is going to be thrown by Layla's aunts. We are still working on the date . It is going to be a traditional women only shower. Expect for the grandpas and father to be if they want to come. Sorry in advance to any men, if you are out there, that enjoy baby showers.

I think I am pretty set on the lady bug theme for the nursery. I think it is girly enough but offers the opportunity to include neutral colors along with browns, and greens. If you have a comment or idea please let me know.

I also just finished reading the book Master Your Metabolism By Julianne Michaels. It was a great book on how to clean up your environment to offer your self and others the best opportunity to live. It is somewhat of a diet book, but since I cannot be on a diet I took the other things she said and am trying to implement them. One of her suggestions when it comes to babies is to try to get organic bedding. I am going to try to register for that so it is easier for the guests to find. Some other things include organic bottles or bottles lined with disposable plastic, seventh generation non bleached dippers and organic cotton clothing. I guess they use a lot of pesticides when manufacturing cotton.

  1. hey Whit! I went to a green baby shower last year for my girlfriend who is a vegan. I know she really liked the seventh generation products and also nature boy and girl.

When it comes to bedding, go for organic cotton and not bamboo. I know the big trend is bamboo but it really is not considered to be organic. Techinically it is sustainable but not organic because of the chemical process the bamboo goes through to break down into soft fibers to be spun into yarns. Cotton is already naturally soft so the process is not nearly as harsh. Hope this helps you. Take care!
